Process Technician
Summary
Position will be responsible for process improvements, productivity increases, cost reductions and other manufacturing improvements, as well as, equipment and facility projects related to manufacturing.
Reports to: Process Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and improves manufacturing processes through the use of personal knowledge, training, consultants, suppliers, etc.
- Researches, develops, purchases and manages the installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Assists with facility related projects including plant layout and infrastructure and production support systems.
- Develops and maintains process control documentation.
- Develops and implements process training.
- Increases productivity through scrap reduction, cycle time improvements, and weight reduction.
- Optimizes process through head tooling design, parison profiling and tooling modifications, as necessary.
- Assists other engineering areas to determine the needs and/or to justify new or upgraded equipment.
- Participates in product launches.
- Works with quality and the Supervisor to resolve issues.
- Make necessary adjustments to leak detectors and secondary equipment.
- Monitors cycle times, flash percentages, weights, and scrap percentage and report any problems or concerns.
- Troubleshooting the machines and equipment. Familiar with programmers and basic electricity, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED education required. Vocational training or Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Three to five years of work experience required, in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills required.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work with limited supervision.
- Able to drive powered industrial trucks required.
- Experience with PET and ISBM processes preferred.
